Michael Wang is a gifted NYC-based jazz trombonist known for his warm sound and deep bebop vocabulary. A winner of the American Trombone Workshop and finalist in the International Trombone Association’s competitions, he has been hailed by Sean Jones as a standout of his generation. A Manhattan School of Music graduate under Kendrick Scott, Wang blends traditional bebop with modern energy, as heard on his 2020 debut album, 'Bone of the Wang Vol. 1.'

Michael Wang (王于維) is a gifted jazz and bebop trombonist known for his warm sound and deep musical vocabulary. Based in New York City, Wang has established himself as a remarkable artist in the industry, earning recognition as a winner of the American Trombone Workshop Competition (Division 1) and as a finalist in the International Trombone Association’s prestigious Carl Fontana and JJ Johnson Competitions. Renowned jazz trumpeter Sean Jones has described him as "one of the brightest trombonists of his generation." In January 2020, he released his debut album, "Bone of the Wang Vol. 1," featuring a collection of original compositions and arrangements performed with his ensemble, including Jonathan Elbaz, Giuseppe Cucchiara, Kazuhiro Odagiri, and Juan Felipe Mejia Tobon. A student of the Manhattan School of Music under the mentorship of Kendrick Scott, Wang frequently performs at venues such as Blue Note Taipei, leading groups that deliver high-energy performances of jazz standards and original works burst with passion.
