Michael Wang is a highly acclaimed Taiwanese trombonist recognized for his exceptional talent in jazz and bebop. Praised for his "warm sound and depth of vocabulary" by jazz trumpeter Sean Jones, Wang has distinguished himself as one of his generation's brightest trombonists. He is a winner of the American Trombone Workshop Competition Division 1 and a finalist in the International Trombone Association’s Carl Fontana and JJ Johnson Competitions. His debut album, "Bone of the Wang Vol. 1" (2020), features a compelling collection of his original compositions and arrangements. Wang has captivated audiences with his dynamic performances, including at prestigious venues like Blue Note Taipei.
