Since returning to Asia, Kuo has toured extensively, performing at the Shanghai Jazz Festival and winning first place at the Taichung Jazz Festival’s New Talent Competition. His music elegantly blends European jazz sensibilities with creative improvisation.

Chun-yu Kuo began his journey into jazz in 2009, seeking a musical path that integrates his interests in composition and improvisation. In 2010, he traveled to Belgium to study jazz piano at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he studied under renowned European jazz pianists Nathalie Loriers and Diederik Wissels. During his time in Europe, he also performed in ensembles led by jazz vocalist David Linx, saxophonist Jeroen Van Herzeele, and French bassist Christophe Wallemme. Between 2013 and 2015, Kuo held solo concerts at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and performed at the famous Brussels jazz club "Sounds." In 2014, he was selected as the pianist for the conservatory's Tango Project, performing at the Queen Elisabeth Hall in Belgium to critical acclaim. The following year, he formed his own quintet featuring Chinese violinist Liu Xing, Taiwanese vocalist Tsai Wen-hui, Brazilian bassist Fillipe Caporali, and Belgian drummer Bert Minnaert. This ensemble presented his graduation performance at the Musical Instruments Museum in Brussels, where he graduated with honors. In 2015, he conducted a tour of dozens of performances across Wuhan, Shanghai, and surrounding cities, and in October 2016, he was invited to perform at the Shanghai Jazz Festival. Since returning to Taiwan, he has performed regularly at various cultural and art spaces. In May 2016, he co-hosted a lecture titled "Improvisation and Jazz" with jazz guitarist Hope Yeh at the Taipei National University of the Arts. Later that year, his group "Vocal Space-Time Travel" won first place in the New Talent Competition at the Taichung Jazz Festival.
