Ricky Wong is a versatile musician who has been active in the Hong Kong music scene for over a decade, with a footprint spanning pop, jazz, and independent music. After several years of reflection, he has returned to the stage and the world of arranging, while continuing his passion for classical composition. His notable arranging works include Vincy Chan's 'Drowning' (沉溺), Kendy Suen's 'Namonaki Monogatari' (Piano Version), and Curley G's 'Before the Next Life' (來生之前). He has also composed original piano trio works for guitarist Alan Kwan's 'Jazz Composers’ Lab.' In 2025, Ricky reignited his deep passion for jazz, preparing his debut solo album 'Silent Invitation' in collaboration with double bassist Satsuki Kusui and drummer Yuto Maseki. The album features eleven original compositions, including two tracks featuring Alan Kwan. Ricky describes the process of preparing this album as a journey back to his roots: jazz and the piano trio. For his current performances, he reunites with long-time friends Justin Siu (double bass) and Dean Li (drums). Together, they bring renewed passion to jazz classics and present his original works for the first time, offering an intimate and profound jazz experience.
