葉政廷 Yeh Cheng Ting

Yeh Cheng Ting is a dedicated jazz pianist who developed his craft through an intensive self-taught process spanning over a decade. During his student years, he mastered the piano by ear, meticulously imitating every note and phrase from classic jazz albums with immense patience before reinterpreting the music through his own creative inspiration. His early focus on the Swing era established a firm foundation for his jazz piano technique, resulting in a performance style characterized by strong traditional jazz textures in both harmony and improvisation. Deeply influenced by the Bebop movement, his playing reflects the inspiration of legends such as saxophonist Charlie Parker, trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie, and pianist Bud Powell. A frequent performer at Blue Note Taipei, he has collaborated with notable musicians including drummer Nicholas McBride and bassist Larry Chen as part of the Nicholas McBride Trio, bringing fresh interpretations to classic jazz standards.
