Gabriel Hahn
Gabriel Amadeus Hahn is a versatile German musician bridging classical roots with avant-garde jazz and pop. Since 2009, he has toured globally as the drummer and vocal percussionist for the legendary New York Voices. A certified psychotherapist and pioneer of the 'Musical-Body-Method,' Hahn currently serves as Artistic Director for the Vocal Asia Festival. Based in Taipei and Berlin, he infuses contemporary music with rhythmic mastery and cross-cultural vision.
Gabriel Amadeus Hahn is a versatile performer who bridges the gap between classical and avant-garde, sensibility and rationality. Born into a classical music family in Munich, Germany, his musical territory spans jazz, pop, ethnic, sacred, and experimental music. He possesses an impressive international resume; since 2009, he has been a member of the legendary jazz vocal group The New York Voices, serving as their touring drummer and vocal percussionist across Europe and Asia. Beyond the jazz realm, he has also ventured into the pop scene, performing as a backing vocalist and musician for the band Mayday as well as several mainstream German singers. In addition to performance, Hahn is dedicated to exploring the connection between the human body and sound. He developed the unique "Musical-Body-Method," popularizing body percussion and rhythm pedagogy. In 2019, he obtained his qualification as a German state-certified senior psychotherapist, bringing greater layers and depth to his musical expression. Currently serving as the Artistic Director of the Vocal Asia Festival and the Artistic Director of the Quanta Culture and Education Foundation A Cappella Youth Camp, Gabriel Hahn is based in Taipei and Berlin, where he continues to infuse music with infinite possibilities through his exceptional sense of rhythm and cross-cultural vision.
