Minyen Hsieh (謝明諺), also known as Minyen Terry Hsieh, is a highly regarded, award-winning Taiwanese saxophonist and a pivotal figure in Taiwan’s jazz and improvisational music scene today. Born in Taipei in 1981, Hsieh began performing professionally at a young age and has since developed a distinctive style that significantly influences the avant-garde jazz subgenre, often challenging traditional musical boundaries. His versatile artistry extends to the soprano saxophone, penny whistle, and finger cymbals, as heard in collaborations like 'Constellation in Motion' with Shih-Yang Lee and Fang-Yi Liu. He is also a key member of the project Non-Confined Space (非密閉空間). Recently, he performed at 宅 J House, continuing to bring his innovative sound to local jazz audiences.
