Ricky Wong

Ricky Wong is a Hong Kong-based pianist, keyboardist, and self-taught composer. He began his musical journey with piano lessons at the age of seven and has since studied under renowned Hong Kong musicians Ted Lo and Tony Carpio, as well as a Universal Classics & Jazz recording artist. As a versatile musician and educator, Wong is active in both the jazz and classical scenes, sharing his expertise through his Patreon platform "A Practical Approach to Piano Playing" and his YouTube channel. His professional experience includes performing in live concerts for various artists and composing for film; he was notably awarded the Best Original Music (Gold) at the Hong Kong Student’s Short Film Competition. His technical strengths encompass piano accompaniment, improvisation, songwriting, arrangement, and movie soundtracks. Notable projects include his collaboration with Alan Kwan in "Jazz Composers' Lab Vol. 2," where he performed original compositions such as "Piano Trio with Viola and Cello No. 1," bridging the gap between jazz and classical music. He has performed at venues such as Fountain de Chopin.
