A pioneering musician and Master of Jazz Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, they specialize in the Sheng, a traditional Chinese mouth organ. Studying under the acclaimed Diederik Wissels, they became the first artist to integrate this ancient instrument into the European jazz education system. Their work represents a unique synthesis of Eastern heritage and Western improvisational techniques, pushing the boundaries of contemporary jazz through a distinct instrumental voice.

Hong Shao-Huan is a pioneering sheng virtuoso and jazz musician holding a Master's in Jazz Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Dutch-speaking). He is notable as the first student in the institution's history to be admitted to its jazz department with a Chinese traditional instrument. Having studied under Diederik Wissels, Jeroen Van Herzeele, and Thibault Dille, Hong masterfully blends the ancient sheng's unique timbre with contemporary jazz and diverse musical expressions. His extensive performance history spans across continents, including the US, Europe, and Asia, earning critical acclaim. Hong's versatile approach encompasses free improvisation, electronic music, and creative composition, actively developing a distinctive "new era sheng music style." He has also performed with the Taipei Chinese Orchestra and represented Taiwan as an International Youth Ambassador.
