Tan Tian is a versatile bassist who transitioned from electric bass to jazz double bass during his university years. Holding a Master’s degree in Jazz from National Dong Hwa University, he studied under masters like Yohei Yamada. Currently a member of "Heartflesh" and "Unleash," Tan is a regular performer at Taipei’s premier jazz venues, including Blue Note and Sappho. His collaborations with various jazz orchestras highlight his steady and sophisticated musicianship.
Tan Tian began his musical journey on the electric bass during his university years, later transitioning to jazz and the double bass in his third year. He studied under the guidance of Lin Ke-an and Lu Quan. He holds a Master’s degree in Jazz from the Department of Music at National Dong Hwa University, where he studied under Yohei Yamada. Currently, he serves as the bassist for the bands "Heartflesh" (心頭肉) and "Unleash." Tan has performed at prominent venues including Sappho Live Jazz, Blue Note Taipei, Dixieland, and the American Club Taipei (ACC). He has also collaborated with the Hsinchu Jazz Orchestra and the Yilan Lan Deng Jazz Orchestra.
