↗ CODA Jazz Kissa 爵士喫茶♪ Edwin Cheung Trio【Jazz Future: Edwin Cheung Trio feat. Bossa Eva】 Young drummer Edwin Cheung, active on both local and international stages, is set to deliver a rhythm-centric concert at CODA. Edwin’s performances blend jazz, Brazilian, Cuban, and pop elements. He has performed at various music festivals in Hong Kong, Singapore, and beyond, accumulating extensive experience collaborating with musicians from different countries. For this performance, he will showcase his unique understanding of Latin rhythms and contemporary musical vocabulary through a selection of classic jazz tracks. To fully present the stylistic depth of Brazilian music, Edwin has specially invited Bossa Eva, a musician from Macau deeply influenced by Bossa Nova and Brazilian music. Bossa Eva’s works stem not only from her love for Brazilian music but also involve arrangements by local Brazilian musicians, resulting in original pieces that combine authentic grooves with personal creative warmth. The repertoire will be based on classic jazz works, integrated with Latin rhythm arrangements Edwin is known for, interspersed with original works by Bossa Eva and her husband Sin. Within the framework of jazz improvisation, they will chart an auditory path from North to South America. For listeners who love the rhythmic variations of jazz or resonate with the warm textures of Brazilian music, this will be a rhythmic journey combining both skill and emotion.
