Over half a century ago, two of jazz history's most influential musicians, Bill Evans and Jim Hall, released "Undercurrent" (1962) and "Intermodulation" (1964), laying down an enduring classic paradigm for guitar and piano duets. "Intercurrents" is a brand new collaborative project by guitarist Roy Patterson and pianist Andy Jaffe, paying homage to these two legendary albums and recreating the musical world of Evans and Hall. **Admission & Pricing:** NT$500 entrance fee includes one selected drink. One bottle of selected red or white wine can cover two admission fees. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9pm. *Cash Only* Monday to Thursday: Buy One Get One Free on House Wine (with entrance fee). **Lineup:** * **蔡子琪 Jenni Tsai | Flute** Master of Flute Performance from New England Conservatory, USA. Jenni has performed at major festivals including Shanghai JZ Jazz Festival, Hangzhou Flower Music Festival, South Africa Arts Alive Music Festival, Taipei Jazz Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival, NTCH Summer Jazz Party, Wanderland Festival, and Longhumen Hip Hop Festival. Her performance venues span from Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai to Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and Singapore's Victoria Hall. She has collaborated with Grammy and Golden Melody Award-nominated/winning artists such as Jerry Gonzales, Walter Blanding, Laura Fygi, Jeremy Monteiro, Tina Ma, Arno Hass, SoftLipa, and Tseng Tseng-yi. Her musical journey extends from classical to jazz, pop to hip-hop, across national venues, small bars, and theater pits. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at Soochow University's School of Music, a member of Trio con Brio, and bandleader of Not A Lady. * **翁家怡 Grace Weng | Piano** Grace admires the poetry of Bill Evans, the playfulness of Thelonious Monk, and the elegance of Cedar Walton. She performs regularly at Blue Note Taipei and has appeared at Taichung Jazz Festival, Sappho, Marsalis, Alchemy, Yuppie Bookstore, and Grand Hyatt. She has taught jazz-related courses at NTCH Summer Jazz Camp, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Shih Chien University. * **王群婷 Refa Wang | Bass** A versatile Taiwanese bassist. Graduated with an MMus & MPerf in Jazz Performance from Guildhall School of Music and Drama, UK. From 2013-2019, she was invited to be part of the show music production team for British fashion brand APUJAN, performing at London Fashion Week. After returning to Taiwan in 2019, she was invited as the double bassist for 9m88's “Beyond Mediocrity” album tour and won third place at the Taichung Jazz Festival competition. In 2020, she was selected as the best band at the Taipei Jazz Festival and performed on the main stage at Daan Forest Park. She has also participated in numerous music albums, film productions, tours, video shoots, and technical guidance for actors, making her one of the few active female musicians across various fields. * **林冠良 Doris Lin | Drums** Began learning jazz drums at age ten, then received classical music education and later studied jazz with Shih Chieh and Kaiya during university. After graduating, she embarked on a professional career as a jazz and pop musician, known for her diverse and flexible playing style. She has participated in numerous singer collaborations, soundtrack productions, and recordings, performing at Taichung Jazz Festival, NTCH Jazz Festival, Weiwuying “Spirit of the Great River,” Weiwuying “Motown Rock Cuba,” and Kaohsiung Pop Music Center New Year Jazz Concerts. Her performance footprint spans Taiwan, China, Italy, France, Mexico, and Canada. She is currently the drummer for Formosa Mission Jazz Band, Sizhukong Band, Sangudai Hò-sên Band, Tang Chuan Jazz Orchestra, and Su Sheng-yu Organ3 Band. She won Best Instrumental Album at the 31st Golden Melody Awards for the album “Ciao Bella” and Best Hakka Album at the 34th Golden Melody Awards for “Yan Feng Yao.” She currently teaches at Shih Chien University's Department of Music. *In case of unforeseen circumstances leading to a change in performers, no separate announcement will be made.
