Huang Yen-Pin is a pioneering Taiwanese jazz violinist and composer, and the first Taiwanese musician to earn a Master’s in Jazz Violin from Poland’s Bydgoszcz Academy of Music. His acclaimed album, 'A Letter to Poland,' earned a Golden Indie Music Award nomination. Mentored by European masters like Mateusz Smoczyński, Huang’s style is characterized by warm, improvisational dialogues and a profound sense of comfort, making him a distinctive voice on major jazz stages.
Huang Yen-Pin is a pioneering Taiwanese jazz violinist and composer. He graduated from the Department of Applied Music at Tainan National University of the Arts before earning a Master's degree in Jazz Violin Performance from the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music in Poland, making him the first Taiwanese jazz musician to study in Poland. During his time in Europe, he studied under Professor Maciej Afanasjew and furthered his studies in jazz performance and composition under Professor Mateusz Smoczyński at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He also received individual guidance from the renowned Adam Bałdych, who highly praised his creative and performance style. His album "A Letter to Poland" was nominated for Best Jazz Single at the 16th Golden Indie Music Awards. Huang has performed at major events including the Neiwei Arts Center New Year's Party, the 2025 National Theater & Concert Hall Summer Jazz Party, and the Taitung Moonlight Sea Concert. He has also collaborated with the jazz string quartet "String & Wind" at the East District Jazz Festival. His music is characterized by warmth and improvisational dialogue, aiming to provide listeners with a comforting and unique musical experience. He frequently collaborates with outstanding young Taiwanese musicians to create interactive performances that foster deep resonance with the audience.
