Chi-lung Hsieh is a versatile drummer and percussionist with a foundation in both classical and jazz music. A former member of the Ju Percussion Group, he later honed his craft at Berklee College of Music under masters like Bob Gullotti. Hsieh has collaborated with renowned artists such as Jason Palmer and Ron Mahdi. Currently a fixture at Blue Note Taipei with the Daniel Chen Trio, he brings over nine years of expertise to his performances and educational work.
Chi-lung Hsieh is a drummer and percussionist who began his musical journey with percussion and piano at a young age. During his university years, he gained extensive performance experience as a member of the Ju Percussion Group. He later pursued advanced studies at Berklee College of Music in the United States, majoring in Jazz Drum Performance. Throughout his career, he has studied under renowned drummers and percussionists including Bob Gullotti, Ian Forman, Neal Smith, Mark Walker, and Latin percussionist Eguie Castrillo. His performance and educational credits include collaborations with trumpeters Lin Biviano and Jason Palmer, as well as bassists Ron Mahdi and Lello Molinari. In the local scene, he is a regular performer at Blue Note Taipei, appearing with ensembles such as the Daniel Chen Trio and the Chen Tzu-chang Quartet. With over nine years of experience as an instructor in percussion and piano, Hsieh continues to contribute to the music community as both a performer and educator.
