Damian Garcia

Damian A. Garcia is a professional jazz pianist and musician originally from Austin, Texas, and currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. His musical journey began with classical training at the age of five, eventually gravitating toward jazz at the start of high school. Garcia is a graduate of the world-renowned University of North Texas (UNT) jazz studies program, where he studied piano under Stefan Karlsson, Michael Palma, and Dan Hearle. His extensive education also includes the Stanford University Jazz Residency, the UNT Jazz Workshop, and the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was a recipient of the Piano Achievement Award from the Texas State University School of Music and is an alumnus of the UNT Two O’Clock Lab Band and Jazz Singers. With over twelve years of professional experience, Garcia has shared the stage with an array of jazz luminaries, including Paquito d’Rivera, Claudio Roditi, Wayne Bergeron, Frank Wess, Butch Miles (of the Count Basie Orchestra), Bob Mintzer, John Fedchock, Taylor Eigsti, Jamey Aebersold, Andre Hayward, Tom Brechtlein, Don Shelton (of the Hi-Lo's), Bonnie Herman (of the Singers Unlimited), Woody Witt, and Akina Adderly (niece of the legendary Cannonball Adderley). Garcia is an active performer and session musician credited on dozens of studio recordings. His international presence includes performances at venues such as Blue Note Taipei and several engagements with top musicians in Tokyo, Japan. Currently, he is the founder of Prestige Performances, where he continues to build his brand as a sophisticated and versatile performer and entrepreneur in the global jazz scene.
