Refa Wang is a versatile double bassist, electric bassist, and composer known for her vibrant virtuosity. Her musicality spans classical, jazz, and Klezmer, making her a dynamic presence in the contemporary scene. A frequent performer at venues like Blue Note Taipei, Wang has transitioned from a sought-after sideman to a compelling leader. With the Refa Wang Quartet, she showcases original compositions that blend technical skill with a unique, modern musical vision.

Refa Wang, also known as 王群婷, is a versatile double bassist, electric bassist, and composer celebrated for her exuberant virtuosity across diverse musical landscapes. With a solid foundation in classical music training, her playing effortlessly spans classical, jazz, traditional Klezmer, and popular music, showcasing a profound musicality and technical skill. In 2013, she participated in the first classical and hip-hop crossover performance, "Swing Your Neck," by the Taiwanese hip-hop group MJ116. She was honored as the Best Bassist at the Two Halls Jazz Summer Camp in 2014 and served as an instructor for the camp the following year. Since 2013, she has been a key member of the music production team for the British fashion brand APUJAN, performing at London fashion shows. Wang earned her Master of Performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London in 2018. In 2019, she won third place in the New Talent Competition at the Taichung Jazz Festival and served as the double bassist for 9m88's "Beyond Mediocrity" album release tour. In addition to her work as a leader with the Refa Wang Quartet, she is a member of the bands Cavey, Happy Beigel Klezmer Orkester, Let’s Play, and Liquid Voice. Her extensive international performance history includes appearances at the MONDOMiX Festival, Isle of Wight Festival, Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, The Royal Wedding Bells Of Windsor Festival, Fete Quaqua Festival, Spitalfields Music Festival, Live Green Festival, SXSW, and the Taichung Jazz Festival. She is a frequent performer at venues such as Blue Note Taipei, appearing both as a sought-after sideman—recently in a trio with vocalist Celine Shue and pianist Yeh Cheng Ting—and as a dynamic bandleader.
