Shawna 楊曉恩

Shawna Yang (楊曉恩) is a prominent Taiwanese jazz saxophonist, educator, and composer who has become a fundamental figure in the regional jazz scene. She currently serves as the leader of the Shawna Yang Jazz Quartet and holds the position of Lead Saxophonist for the Taipei Jazz Orchestra. Her extensive performance career includes membership in the Amoeba Jazz Band, and she previously served as the lead saxophonist for the Dizzy Jazz Band and the Taipei All Star Big Band. As an official endorser for Antigua Saxophones, Shawna has established her presence at renowned venues such as Sappho Live and Blue Note Taipei. Her discography includes the album "Memories Of T," recorded with a Sino-Japanese quartet. With a background in musicology from the National Taipei University of the Arts and international study experience initiated by a scholarship to the United States in 2000, her work is characterized by an authentic approach to the genre, blending professional mastery with contemporary artistic vitality. In addition to the saxophone, she is also proficient in piano, flute, and clarinet, and is active as a conductor, composer, and arranger.
