Lionel Pinard (李歐) is a Taiwan-based pianist and composer known for his innovative jazz and world music fusion. As leader of NoMads Factory, his debut album "Elefant On A Pink Leaflet" showcases his unique blend of contemporary jazz with global influences.

Lionel Pinard, also known as 李歐, is a Taipei-based pianist, accordionist, and composer celebrated for his innovative fusion of jazz and world music. Raised in an artistic French family, he began studying piano at age six and graduated in 1993 from the prestigious Conservatory Regional Influence de Rueil-Malmaison in the Paris region. Pinard splits his time between Taipei and Paris, a lifestyle that deeply influences his creative output, which blends traditional folk elements with jazz and improvisation. As the leader of NoMads Factory and the NoMads Ensemble, he creates what he describes as a "joyful elastic space of jazz & world music." His extensive discography includes "Taiwan Jazz & World" (Buda Musique/Universal), "Taiwan Erhu" (a collaboration with erhu player Luo Chang-qin), "Shantia Ditu" (The NoMads Ensemble), "Big Big Intersecting Clusters" (Flaneur Daguerre), and "Fluent, Are You Fluent?" (FLUENT Live Hip Hop). His debut album with NoMads Factory, "Elefant On A Pink Leaflet," was recorded at Yuchen Recording Studio in Taipei and features original compositions alongside inventive arrangements of Bulgarian and Thracian folk dances, performed with collaborators Minyen Hsieh, Refa Wang, and Weichung Lin. Pinard has performed at notable venues like Blue Note Taipei, establishing himself as a significant and distinctive voice in Taiwan's vibrant jazz scene.
