Bowen Li is a jazz pianist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger based in Hong Kong and London. A graduate of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, he is recognized for his innovative fusion of contemporary jazz with electronic textures. His musical palette extends beyond the traditional piano, frequently incorporating synthesizers to add a modern dimension and experimental depth to his work. Bowen's artistry is heavily inspired by the works of Mark Guiliana, Brad Mehldau, and Keith Jarrett, influences that are reflected in both his original compositions, such as "Eagles Fable," and his debut album "Unemployed," recorded with double bassist Nelson Fung and drummer Dean Li. As a central figure in various ensembles, including the Bowen Li Piano Trio, he frequently collaborates with renowned Hong Kong musicians such as drummer Samuel Chan and guitarist Vincent Choy. Bowen has performed at notable venues and events including CODA Jazz Kissa, Fountain de Chopin, Kind of Brew, Youth Square, and outdoor performances at Freespace in the West Kowloon Cultural District. His work often blends intricate improvisation with modern soundscapes, exploring the boundaries of jazz through a unique integration of keys and synth elements.
