Fang-Shu Li is a distinguished guitarist hailing from Taiwan, recognized for his significant contributions to the local jazz scene. His playing style is characterized by a minimalist, restrained aesthetic that balances technical precision with natural emotional expression. Li's early career was marked by notable accolades, including winning Best Guitarist at both the YAMAHA Music Competition and the NCCU Golden Melody Awards. In 2016, he secured third place at the Taichung Jazz Festival competition with the "Fang-Shu Li Trio" and was invited to perform at the Taipei Jazz Festival. To further refine his artistry, Li moved to the United States after military service to study guitar performance at the Los Angeles College of Music (LACM). He remains an active performer at prominent venues such as Blue Note Taipei, where he has appeared as part of the Plus One Trio alongside musicians like Hsu Hsun Shun and Jeffrey Lin. Beyond the stage, Li is deeply committed to music education, serving as an instructor for both electric and acoustic guitar at the Soho Music Center in Taipei, where he shares his extensive knowledge and experience with aspiring musicians to promote the development of jazz guitar in Taiwan.
