Jon Zhang is a distinguished Europe-based jazz bassist who earned his Master's degree from the prestigious Codarts Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Jon Zhang is a US-born, Europe-based jazz bassist who earned his Master's degree in Jazz Bass from Codarts Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He is a highly active figure in the Dutch jazz scene, frequently performing at established venues such as Murphy’s Law and Dizzy. As a bandleader, Jon has led his own groups at various international jazz festivals and clubs, including Ronnie Scott's and Pizza Express in London, and Le Sunside, Le Sunset, and Le Bal Blomet in Paris. His festival appearances span the globe, including the Brecon Jazz Festival (Wales), the Oslo Jazz Festival, the Torino Jazz Festival, the Ottawa Jazz Festival, the Winnipeg Jazz Festival, and the Savannah Jazz Festival. He has also performed at Fountain de Chopin (翻騰三周半).
