Guylaine Cosseron is a conservatory gold medalist whose artistic practice bridges the worlds of jazz experimentation, contemporary music, and free improvisation. Drawing inspiration from ethnic music and the ensemble "Four Walls," Cosseron formed her own quartet, "Le Jaseur de Bohême," in 2002—a project characterized by its deliberate lack of a bass and a focus on blending original compositions with spontaneous performance. In 2013, following a period of extensive personal research as a composer and performer, she founded her own production company to further explore the internal sound worlds of the voice. Utilizing high technical proficiency, she navigates global musical influences through the lens of free improvisation. Her collaborative projects include a trio featuring guitarist Jean-Sébastien Mariage and percussionist Sébastien Bouhana, as well as a Mexico City-based experimental duo with Diemo Schwarz. Their 2024 release, "In My Water," presents a chaotic blend of avant-garde rock rhythms and spontaneous jazz breaks. An international performer, she has appeared at venues such as Sappho Live Jazz.
