Taipei-born violinist Lin Shaoyuan transitioned from classical roots to jazz after discovering Duke Ellington in high school. A former president of the NTU Jazz Club and student of Huang Wei-Chun, she is a versatile performer known for her work with the String Quartet and Dark Eyes Gypsy Jazz Band. Having graced stages like the National Concert Hall and Taipei Jazz Festival, Lin brings a refined yet passionate voice to the jazz violin community.

Taipei-born violinist Lin Shaoyuan (林劭緣) began her musical journey with classical training at the age of six. Her artistic direction took a pivotal turn during her final year of high school when a video of the Duke Ellington Big Band sparked an enduring passion for jazz. Under the tutelage of Huang Wei-Chun, she further refined her craft and served as the president of the National Taiwan University (NTU) Jazz Club, demonstrating a strong commitment to the promotion of jazz music. Lin’s versatile artistry is showcased through her involvement in diverse ensembles, including Interestring Quartet (玩弦四度), NTU Commotion Jazz Orchestra, Dark Eyes Gypsy Jazz Band, and Hot Club de Takao. She has performed at significant venues and festivals such as the Taipei Jazz Festival, NTU Music Festival, the National Concert Hall, and 宅 J House, establishing herself as a dedicated and multifaceted voice in the Taiwanese jazz community.
