Founder of the award-winning ensemble 'Ka Dao Yin,' Lee has earned multiple Golden Indie and Golden Melody Awards. Renowned for his mastery of the prepared piano, his work extends into cross-disciplinary collaborations with dance and theater, notably the acclaimed 'Two Men.' Lee remains a pivotal figure in the international avant-garde scene, blending technical depth with boundless creative exploration.

Shih-Yang Lee is a prominent Taiwanese pianist born in 1982, whose work spans the realms of classical music and free improvisation. He is widely recognized for his long-term dedication to improvised performance. In 2010, Lee founded the ensemble "Ka Dao Yin" (卡到音即興樂團), which has garnered multiple accolades, including the Golden Indie Music Awards and the Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music. His artistic reach extends beyond music, collaborating with practitioners in theater, dance, painting, and multimedia. Notably, his 2012 collaboration with Horse Dance Theatre, "Two Men," was selected as one of the Top Ten Works of the Year at the 11th Taishin Arts Awards. His discography includes the live album "Winter Solstice," the collaborative project "Constellation in Motion" with saxophonist Minyen Hsieh and Fang-Yi Liu, and "Four Characters" with Ka Dao Yin. Known for his use of the prepared piano, Lee continues to perform internationally and has been a featured artist at venues such as Sappho Live Jazz.
