The Ted Lo Trio is led by the acclaimed jazz pianist, composer, and arranger Ted Lo. Born in 1950, Ted Lo's career is marked by significant international collaborations and a deep commitment to the jazz idiom. In 1990, he toured the United States extensively with the legendary jazz tap dancer Gregory Hines. He recorded his debut album, 'Asian American Trio,' in New York in 1992, featuring a world-class rhythm section with Rufus Reid on bass and Akira Tana on drums. In 1995, Lo returned to his roots for a homecoming concert at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, which featured guest vocalist and pop icon Sandy Lam. Since relocating to Hong Kong in late 1996, he has maintained a diverse career, collaborating with figures such as Eugene Pao and specializing in arranging jazz for full orchestras. Lo views music as an endless journey of learning and possibility.
