Born in Taipei and trained at Juilliard and the New England Conservatory, Wie Chieh (Henry) Hu is a versatile session keyboardist and composer. His musicality spans classical, jazz, and pop, with performances reaching from Taiwan to Paris. Currently a member of TPO and Cinnamon Mango, Henry has collaborated with artists like Whyte (?te) and David Huang. A fixture at major jazz festivals, he brings a sophisticated, multi-instrumental perspective to every stage.
Born in Taipei, Wie Chieh (Henry) Hu is a professional session keyboardist and composer who began his musical training at a young age, studying piano, violin, viola, and guitar. During his time in the United States, he studied composition at the Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory under the guidance of professors Ira Taxin, David Conte, John Manila, and Michael Gandolfi. Since returning to Taiwan, he has balanced a career in classical composition with active participation in the jazz and pop music scenes as a keyboardist. He has performed multiple times at the Taipei and Taichung Jazz Festivals, and his performance footprint spans Taiwan, Paris, and the United States. Previously the keyboardist for "The Night Night Show with Hello" and the progressive rock band Optical Whale, he is currently a member of the TPO (Taipei Professional Orchestra), Cinnamon Mango, and Taiwan Heavy Hitters Latin. A regular performer at major venues in Taipei such as Sappho Live, he has collaborated with a diverse array of artists including David Huang, Hsu Ching-Chun, Dawen Wang, Whyte (?te), Hsu Che-Wei, Bradd, Funky (Cosmos People), L8ching, and Fi-Né.
