Yu-Chia Liu is a prominent Taiwanese double bassist known for his exquisite technique and versatile background in both Chinese music and jazz. A winner of the Taipei Jazz New Talent Competition, he is a mainstay at major events like the Taichung Jazz Festival and NTCH Summer Jazz. Beyond performing, Liu is a dedicated educator and composer, co-leading international quartet projects across Europe and Asia, bridging cultures through his sophisticated original compositions.

Yu-Chia Liu is a prominent double bassist with a diverse musical background, having studied at the Department of Chinese Music at Tainan National University of the Arts and the Jazz Program at National Dong Hwa University. Renowned for his exquisite technique and unique musical style, he has earned high acclaim within the Taiwanese jazz community. He was awarded Best Double Bassist by the National Theater and Concert Hall (NTCH) and was invited to serve as a faculty member for the NTCH Jazz Camp in 2015, actively promoting jazz education and original compositions. In 2016, he won first place in the Taipei Jazz New Talent Competition. Since 2018, he has co-curated the "Original Music Tour Project" with German jazz pianist Julian Moreen, serving as the general coordinator for Taiwan and Asia. This quartet project has involved album recordings and international tours across Germany, Singapore, and Malaysia, expanding his musical footprint in both performance and composition. Since 2019, he has been a regular performer at the Taichung Jazz Festival. Between 2024 and 2025, he participated in multiple performances of the "What the Jazz!" salon series at the National Taichung Theater (NTT+). In recent years, he has collaborated frequently with the NTCH, performing at the Summer Jazz Outdoor Party, the 2022 "Jazz in da House," and the 2024 "The Taste of Taiwan Jazz," the latter of which was also invited to perform at the Weiwuying Jazz Week.
