In this concert, long‑time musical partners pianist Bowen Li and bassist Nelson Fung join forces to pay tribute to the legendary duo of Keith Jarrett and Charlie Haden and their two classic albums, Jasmine and Last Dance . Keith Jarrett and Charlie Haden first began working together in the 1960s, then stopped collaborating for nearly thirty years before reuniting in 2007 in Jarrett’s home studio in New Jersey to record Jasmine and Last Dance . These recordings were made with no audience and no rehearsals—only two musicians who had known each other for half a lifetime engaging in spontaneous musical conversation in an intimate setting. Critics have described these as “some of Jarrett’s most beautiful and intimate recordings,” while noting that Haden “never wastes a note and never places a note in the wrong spot.” For this concert, the two musicians—who are also co‑founders of Fountain de Chopin —appear in duo format, having previously released the album Unemployed in 2025 under the name Bowen Li Trio , featuring twelve original and arranged pieces. Bowen and Nelson have worked together for many years and share a deep musical rapport.
