Jao Tim is a jazz café and live music venue housed in a beautifully restored 1910 pre-war shophouse on Jalan Sultan, near Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown. "Jao Tim" means hotel in Cantonese, and the space preserves its Art Deco heritage with high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and vintage furnishings. By day a café, by night a jazz bar — the venue hosts live performances nearly every evening, featuring local jazz, blues, and acoustic acts. One of KL's most atmospheric spots for discovering Malaysia's emerging music scene.
